In this age of exuberant decadence, no expense was spared to make the Villa the most spectacular on the Lake. The façade was redesigned in the Neoclassical style and the two side wings, impressive staircase, marble balconies and characteristic blue shutters – reflecting the lake waters – were added. Great artists were brought in to embellish the halls and rooms with elaborate stuccoes and frescoes resulting in spectacular period décor.
